COVID-19 Implications for Beechboro Primary School from Monday 8th June 2020:
The very latest declaration from the Department of Education received this morning states:
“Parents/ carers and visitors may come on to school sites to attend pre-arranged meetings and for drop off and pick up purposes. This should be limited to a maximum of 100 people with physical distancing of one person per 2 square metres and good hygiene practices applied.”
The Emergency Management Act (2005) is very explicit about the need for all of the Beechboro School community to follow this directive.
In order to abide by these explicit directives our school from Monday 8th June will:
- In order to abide by the restriction to 100 visitors/adults allowed on site, only Kindergarten and Pre Primary parents / carers will be invited to enter school grounds. These parents / carers may choose to continue dropping off and picking up their children at the school gate and Education Assistants will be available to allow this to continue as before.
- In order to abide by the 2 square metre distancing rule Kindergarten and Pre Primary parents / carers will not enter classrooms. Pre-arranged meetings with parents / carers are allowed.
- Scheduled Reporting to Parents meetings will proceed however, so as to restrict the number of parent / carers to 100 on site at any time those attending meetings are urged not to be on school grounds more than 10 minutes prior to their scheduled meeting. Parents / carers who have completed meetings are encouraged to leave the school grounds promptly.
We thank you for your understanding, patience and adherence to these decisions.
Every directive we receive from the Department of Education and every decision we make as a consequence is in the best interests of the health and safety of the Beechboro Primary School community.
Please stay safe and healthy.
