Message from the Principal’s Office, 25 May 2022

Last Friday it was our pleasure to celebrate P and C Day with a morning tea to thank our P and C Committee and school volunteers who help in the school canteen.

It was our pleasure to acknowledge them for the time they give up for the betterment of the school and the students who whom attend Beechboro PS. Without these helpers the school canteen and uniform shop would not be able to run along with many other projects they assist with fundraising. On behalf of a very grateful school, I thank you!

Friday also saw our first Assembly for the year hosted by Year 1 Room 2. They performed an entertaining rendition of ‘The Damper Man’ and they spoke and hosted the event beautifully. Thank you to Miss Wood and the students in Room 2. The assembly also saw a Beechboro PS first where all three students from the same family were awarded with a Merit Certificate. Congratulations to Kawther (PP2), Elham (Room 2) and Maryam Khateri (Room 13) on all receiving a Merit Certificate.

This morning at 11a.m., the whole school participated in the 2022 ALIA National Simultaneous Story time. Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by Australians is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, homes and children’s facilities all over the country. The book chosen this year is Family Tree written by Josh Pike and illustrated by Ronojoy Ghosh. After the story was read, students from all year levels participated in reading activities about the story. Thank you to Ms Herbert for co-ordinating this activity for the whole school.

On Monday the Director General of Education instructed all schools to send home a letter regarding Reporting to Parents for Semester One. Your child should have brought this home with them on Monday. At this stage we don’t envisage too much of a change to our semester one reports, but comments will be limited. We will be holding our annual Reporting to Parent Meetings on the 28, 29, 30 June 2022, commencing at 1pm and with the last meeting starting at 4.50p.m. The notes for these went home with students this week, so please check their bags for the note and return it to the classroom teacher as soon as possible to book your meeting time.

Parent / Teacher Conference letters offering parents three preferred times to meet on the scheduled day will be sent home soon with your child.
Please indicate on the form your 1st, 2nd and 3rd preferences to meet. Once your child’s teacher receives your preferences the Parent / Teacher Conference timetable will be prepared and you will be notified of the time to meet with the teacher. Thank you for your assistance.
